Update 7/5/2011

It's been forever since I've posted an update. The shop is coming along slowly but surely - we are finishing up details and we're pushing back the opening date to mid-August. We still don't have a date nailed down but I hope to let everyone know soon!!

Chimneys

I haven't posted pictures of the upstairs yet, so I wanted to show what the chimneys look like. The large brick chimneys go right up the middle of two rooms upstairs. It's very strange but I love how unique they look! Check them out...

Refinished Floors

Here's a preview of how our floors turned out -- the front half of the house is done, and they look wonderful!

Flooring

Southern Woods Flooring in Bethlehem started refinishing our floors today, and they already look amazing! I'll keep posting updated photos, but here's the before & after so far. Once the floors are finished we should be getting closer to opening day - we're now shooting for mid-June!

This is what the floors looked like when we bought the house - 

Tree cutting

One of the many things we want to do before opening is work on the landscaping in the front, and also make sure that people driving by can actually see the house. We are having about 30 of the oak and pine trees cut down along the front near the road. It already looks better, and they're only half-way done!

Painting!

We're working hard to get the Judson ready for shopping & coffee time, and painting has been our first big task. We finished the front 4 rooms and the front door, and we now get to work on the front porch, and the back rooms. Once painting is done we will get the lovely old hardwoods refinished! Here's a preview of our painting...

Finding a treasure

Today we tackled the carpets. We didn't know the condition of the floors beneath the carpets, but we we're just hoping they would be decent. Here's the before picture..

 for being 120+ years old, the floors are in amazing condition!!
